For the past twenty-three years we have toasted each New Year with a wish for health and togetherness. This past year that wish fell tragically short as our living heart was ripped from our soul. You were that heart, Kylene. You were the axis of our world. You were everything good in us. You lived a life of trust and love and caring. Your love lit our darkest night and magnified our brightest days. You were our joy and pride.
Thus our toast this year is not a wish for the year coming, but thanks for and remembrance of the too-few years past that you filled and fulfilled our lives, precious years that shall truly never be forgot. To you, Kylene, for all you did and for all you were. All New Years from this time forward shall be all the poorer, for you shall not be a part of them, except in the hearts of those blessed enough to know you, where you shall have a welcome home forever.
